Robert B. Felty, Sr.

Robert B. Felty, Sr, 95, died Thursday, August 23, 2018, at Homewood at Plum Creek.  He was the husband of the late Ferne E. (Grim) Felty, his wife of 65 years, who died October 31, 2011.

Robert was born September 1, 1922, in Altoona, the son of the late George T. and Sara C. (McDermitt) Felty.

Robert was a member of Sacred Heart Basilica in Spring Grove, a graduate of New Oxford High School, and he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII, serving in the European Theater.  He was a life member of NARFE, and the Abbottstown Fire Company, and was a member of the Hanover V.F.W., Hanover AMVETS, AARP, Catholic War Vets in Bonneauville, and the Kentucky Colonels. 

Robert is survived by a son, Gregory R. Felty and his wife Barbara of Selinsgrove, a daughter, Mariann E. Steward of Hanover, six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.  He was predeceased by a son, Robert B. Felty, Jr, and a sister, Josephine Smith.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at 11 AM, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 6048 W. Canal Rd, Abbottstown, with Rev. Timothy D. Marcoe officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  A viewing will be held at the church on Thursday, from 10 AM until the time of the service.  Memorial contributions may be made to Homewood at Plum Creek, 425 Westminster Ave, Hanover, PA  17331 or to the church.  Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, is in charge of arrangements.  Memories may be shared at www.feiserfuneralhome.com.
