Rev. Harvey S. Kline

Rev. Harvey S. Kline, 96, died Thursday, June 22, 2017 at The Brethren Home Community.  He was the husband of the late Ruth (Zimmerman) Kline, his wife of 66 years, who died January 11, 2010.

Harvey was born April 10, 1921, in Lebanon Co., PA, the son of the late Harvey W. and Violet J. (Swope) Kline.

Harvey was a former Church of The Brethren pastor, having served congregations in Des Moines, IA, Franklin Grove, IL, Uniontown, PA, Dundalk, MD and Chambersburg, PA, before becoming the President/CEO of Cross Keys Village The Brethren Home Community in 1970.  He retired in 1988.

Harvey is survived by a daughter, Nancy K. Gunden, of Harrisonburg, VA; two sons, H. John Kline and his wife Bev of Elizabethtown, and Rev. Joel D. Kline and his wife Donna, of Ft. Wayne, IN; seven grandchildren, Jeremy Gunden and his wife Keili, Erica Guengerich and her husband John, Jeffrey Kline and his wife Stephanie, David Kline and his wife Sarah, Joshua Kline and his wife Raquel, Jesse Kline and his wife Heidi, and Jill Kline and her husband Jeff McAvoy; and 4 great grandchildren, Emily Kline, Paul Kline, Elizabeth Kline and Fiona Kline.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 2 PM at the Nicarry Meeting House of The Brethren Home Community, 2990 Carlisle Pike, New Oxford.  Burial will be private.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Fund of The Brethren Home Community.  Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, is in charge of arrangements.  Memories may be shared at www.feiserfuneralhome.com.
