Raymond L. Keeney

Raymond L. Keeney, 80, of Abbottstown, died Saturday, September 16, 2017, at York Hospital.  He was the husband of the late Clara V. (Lloyd) Keeney, his wife of 55 years, who died May 31, 2012.

Raymond was born October 31, 1936, in Codorus Twp., York Co., the son of the late Howard M. and Emma C. (Cornbower) Keeney.

Raymond was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Abbottstown, and retired from P.H. Glatfelter after 38 years of service

Raymond is survived by two daughters, Ellen F. Reeling of York, and Beverly A. Strack and her husband Robert of Old Bethpage, NY, a son, Nevin L. Keeney of Orlando, ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and ten siblings, Delores Lillich, Darlene Arnold, Frances Nace, Vergie Maus, Virginia Maus, Dean Keeney, Donna Poist, Karen Rodgers, Sharon Van Pelt and Donald Keeney.  He was predeceased by a daughter, Lucinda M. Rummel and two brothers, Charles and Sterling Keeney.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at 2 PM, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 100 E. Water St, Abbottstown, with his pastor, Rev. Shawn Berkebile, officiating.  Burial will be in Marburg Memorial Gardens in Hanover.  A viewing will be held on Monday from 6-8 PM at the Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, and on Tuesday at the church from 1 PM until the time of the service.  Memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels, C/O York County Area Agency on Aging, 100 W.
