Karoline (Kraxner) Shipe, 89, entered into God’s eternal rest and care on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at The Brethren Home Community. She was the wife of the late Wilbert G. “Wil” Shipe, Jr, who died January 31, 2018.
Karoline was born October 8, 1929, in Salzburg, Austria, the daughter of the late Simon and Elisabeth (Morocutti) Kraxner.
Karoline immigrated to this country in 1952 after marrying Wil who was serving in the U.S. Army. She was an army wife for many years, traveling on many assignments with Wil. Karoline was employed as a waitress and salesperson, was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Chambersburg, and was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels for many years.
Karoline is survived by two sons, Gilbert and his wife Deanna of Marlinton, WV, and Richard and his wife Holly LaBrasca-Shipe of New Providence, her grandchildren whom she adored, Eli Shipe, and Cecilia Shipe, two great grandchildren, Aubrey and Gabriel Shipe, and a step granddaughter, Diondra North.
Funeral services and burial will be private. Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, is in charge of arrangements. Memories may be shared at www.feiserfuneralhome.com.
