James M. Dysart

James M. Dysart, 80, of New Oxford, died Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at his residence.  He was the husband of Patricia (Estep) Dysart, his wife of 53 years.

Jim was born January 23, 1937, in Hanover, the son of the late Lester "Mike" Dysart and the late Mary (McClain) Dysart Humer.

Jim was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Oxford, and a 1955 graduate of New Oxford High School.  He was formerly employed at E.C. Livingston Shoe Manufacturer, and retired from E.S. Martin's Trucking.  He was a member of the NRA, McSherrystown Fish and Game, Conewago Valley Model Railroad Club, Susquehanna Valley Garden Railroad Club, North-South Skirmish Association, Dick's Dam Association, and the Hamilton Twp. Parks and Recreation Board.  He was a board member of the New Oxford Historical Society, and was an elected Hamilton Twp. Auditor for 18 years.  Jim loved trains and living along the Conewago Creek.

In addition to his wife Pat, Jim is survived by a sister, Ann Gates, and a cousin, Marlene Donsen.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 11 AM, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 200 Lincoln Way East, New Oxford, with his pastor, Rev. Elizabeth D. George, officiating.  Burial will be in New Oxford Cemetery.  A viewing will be held on Friday from 6-8 PM at the Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford.  There will be no viewing at the church on Saturday.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.  Memories may be shared at www.feiserfuneralhome.com.
