Freda O. (Groupe) Groft

Freda O. (Groupe) Groft, 90, died Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at Hanover Hall.  She was the wife of the late Michael J. Groft, who died December 18, 1984.

Freda was born August 31, 1927, in New Chester, the daughter of the late Alvin E. and Georganna (Trimmer) Group.

Freda attended Calvary Bible Church in Hanover, where she was active in the Widows Fellowship and Calvary Ambassadors, and she retired from the Famous Hot Weiner.

Freda is survived by a daughter, Dixie L. Wildasin and her husband David of Hanover, three grandchildren, Erica L. Wildasin, Zachary M. Wildasin and Micah D. Wildasin, and two sisters, Ruth Klinedinst of McSherrystown, and Beverly Snyder of Hanover.  She was predeceased by two sisters, Nadine Eckenrode and Dolores Myers, and four brothers, Fred, Phillip, Ted and George “Bud” Groupe.   

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 22, 2018, at 11 AM, at Calvary Bible Church, 603 Wilson Ave, Hanover, with Pastor Dan Delosso and Pastor Rick Quinnett officiating.  Burial will be at 2:30 PM at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Littlestown.  A viewing will be held on Sunday at the church from 5-7 PM, and on Monday at the church from 10 AM until the time of the service.  Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to VNA/Hospice, 440 N.
