Anthony Tony Cogar Obituary

Anthony A. “Tony” Cogar, 54, died Monday, September 3, 2018 at the Atlantic General Hospital, Berlin, MD.  Tony was the husband of Donna L. Lehman, his wife of 34 years.

Tony was born January 1, 1964 in Chambersburg, PA the son of the late Ronald Alan Cogar and Bonita C. (Boyd) Hart.

Tony was an avid softball player in many Hanover Leagues for over 35 years, a life-long fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and Alabama (Roll Tide) football teams. He was the biggest fan of his son’s and all they did. Tony was a donor for the “Gift of Life” program in Maryland, where part of that donation will help in the research for a cure to Parkinson’s disease.

In addition to his wife Donna, Tony is survived by three sons; Timothy A. Cogar of Littlestown, Tyler A. Cogar of Abbottstown, and Trevor A. Cogar of Abbottstown, 4 grandchildren, one brother, David A. Sturgeon and his wife Pam, of Hanover, a step father, John “Jack” Hart of New Oxford, a mother in law, Helene Lehman and her companion Larry Stansbury of Hanover, two sister in law, Beverly Lehman and Crystal Lehman both of Abbottstown, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a grandmother, Margie V. Boyd.

A Celebration of life service will be held for all his friends and family, who he loved so much, at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to “People Who Care” P.O. Box 427, New Oxford, PA. 17350.
