When faced with the passing of a loved one, it is important to turn to someone you know and trust. Feiser Funeral Home in New Oxford and East Berlin has been just that form of support, serving families in our community for over 60 years. Our third generation family-owned and operated business knows what it takes to respond to your family's need in your time of loss.
Fred F. Feiser started the business in 1949. Fred's son, J. Clark Feiser joined the business in 1973 and became owner in 1983. Upon his retirement in 2005, his stepson Marty and Mikki Wheeler took ownership of the family business, becoming president and vice president. Marty has worked over 20 years at Feiser Funeral Home. While he supervises the New Oxford location, his wife Mikki serves as office manager. Michael A. Longo, Jr. joined the funeral home in 2005 and is the supervisor of the East Berlin location. Marty and Michael are both licensed funeral directors who, along with the rest of the personable and caring staff, are committed to serving your family.
According to Mikki Wheeler, Feiser Funeral Home offers a special kind of understanding, one which is nurtured over years of knowing what is most important. The Wheelers infuse the funeral home with a family-serving-family attitude. They will help you create the best service possible to honor your loved one. No matter your religion or lifestyle, Feiser Funeral Home works to incorporate personal touches at the family's discretion.
Feiser Funeral Home takes the total care approach. Their fully licensed staff is available 24 hours a day and coordinates all aspects of the services with total compassion and care. Serving all faiths, a wide range of options is available, including memorial ceremonies, cremation or traditional burial services and funeral pre-planning.
Another unique service with Feiser Funeral Home is their 16-plus year membership with the Lofty Oaks Association. The organization is dedicated to reforestation and conservation efforts, and has planted over 39,500 trees in Pennsylvania. The firms work together to have a tree planted as a living memorial in honor of the deceased and to renew the state forest life. After each service, family members and friends are informed that a complimentary memorial tree has been arranged for planting by Marty and Mikki.
Recently, a growing number of people have started pre-planning their own funerals, ensuring their wishes are fulfilled. Planning ahead can take some of the emotional, financial and decision-making burden off of family you will leave behind. It also allows you to better organize your estate to avoid any unnecessary legal and family problems. If you have an interest, Feiser Funeral Home can walk you through the steps of pre-planning.
Growing up in the area, it feels good to be able to serve the local communities and be there for those who were there for me growing up, says Marty Wheeler. Feiser Funeral Home has built a 60-year tradition of serving the communities they call home.
Lofty Oaks Association is a memorial tree planting program for Professional Funeral Homes, planting trees on behalf of its members in the deceased's home state.
